Club Notes 3rd December 2017

Congratulations to the Under 15 Camogie/LGFA team and their coaches Nuala, Bernie, Suzanne & Kevin who won the team of the year for their achievements this season at the Annual Northside People Community & Sports Awards ceremony in the Carlton Hotel on Thursday. The Camogie team won the Division 2 Championship while the LGFA team were runners up in the Division 1 Championship. Well done players and coaches, the Club is very proud of you. The players from the both teams are involved in coaching underage camogie & LGFA teams. Bernie & Suzanne accepted the award on behalf of the team.

Please note that River Valley & Ridgewood pitches will be closed from Saturday 16th December until Sunday 15th January 2018 inclusive. Last matches to be played on Sunday 10th December and the first match of 2018 will be played on Saturday 20st January.

The Nursery & Academy Christmas Party will take place in the Community Centre Hall on Saturday 9th December at 10:30am for both groups where Santa will visit the boys & girls. The Nursery & Academy sponsored by Sky Handling Partner will then resume on Saturday 13th January 2018 after the Christmas break.

Sam Maguire paid a visit to Holy Family & Holywell Educate Together School last Thursday for the 3rd year in a row courtesy of GPO Paul!

Please support the National Club Draw, €10 per ticket. Tickets are available in the Club Office or any member of the Executive Committee and all funds raised will be retained by the club. Tickets will be issued to team mentors over the coming days.

A few reminders, the Club Appreciation night is taking place on Saturday 9th December in Peacocks at 8:30pm with music by Abbeyfolk. The event is being run in conjunction with the Adult Teams appreciation night on what is always a great social occasion for the Club to kick off the Christmas season.

The club is holding a CPSA (Child Protection in Sport Awareness course on Tuesday 12th December in the Clubhouse. It is essential for all coaches working with children to complete this course. Please contact Paul Lyons 087 176 1302 to book a place.

There are Yoga classes taking place in the Clubhouse Activity Room every Thursday evening. For further details, please contact Jacquie at 087 786 8363.

Club Lotto - The club lotto jackpot on the 1st December 2017 was €4000 and the numbers drawn were 1, 4 14, 27. There was no winner. Lucky Dip Winners of €40 were Marie O’Donoghue, Linda Farrell, Gavin Moore & Stephen King. Next week’s jackpot is €4100.

The club bingo takes place this and every Friday upstairs in Peacocks at 8.30pm. The jackpot is €550!

The Coffee Shop is open this and every Saturday from 10am to 1pm. All are welcome for a cuppa and a chat!
