Club Notes 11th March 2018

March 11, 2018

The effects of last week’s snow rendered River Valley & Ridgewood pitches unplayable resulting in most of the weekend’s home fixtures being cancelled.

Congratulations to the AHL8 team who beat Castleknock in Somerton. The first two games of the season has seen Minor players Jack Malone & Andrew Cowley make their Adult Hurling debuts with Jimmy Hammond & Eoin O’Malley in good form on their return to hurling action.

Well done also to the Thomas Ashe Minor team who had a great win in their Division 3 clash with St Sylvesters.

Congratulations to the Under 16 Camogie team who won their first Division 1 league game against Faughs in a very tight encounter on Saturday, while the Under 16 LGFA team beat Kilmacud Crokes in Ridgewood on Sunday.

Well done to the Under 8 2010 girls who played their first Go Games Camogie match on Sunday against Whitehall Colmcille. The girls are currently being coached by members of the Under 16 Championship winning Camogie team and this was reflected by the skill levels on display.

With St Patricks Day approaching, a reminder that all juvenile members are invited to walk with their team in the Swords St Patrick's Day parade accompanied by their parents wearing their St Finian’s colours or something else! The parade starts at 11am and all parents & children are requested to meet in Coláiste Choilm car park on the Forest Road at 10am.Parents & coaches are by now aware of the club's plans for the Parade and a big thanks to all those who spent a great deal of time helping with the preparations. Everybody is invited back to the clubhouse for some ceol agus craic & refreshments afterwards from 12.30pm onwards - all are welcome. Huge thanks to Under 8 Boys Coach Ken McDermott and Precision Klima Services http://www.pkservices.ie for sponsoring the Club's St Patricks day events and all the materials for club's plans for the Swords St Patrick’s day parade!
