CLUB NOTES 3rd FEBRUARY 2019


YOUR CLUB, YOUR VOICE!.  St. Finians is developing a 3 year Strategic Plan in conjunction with Croke Park and are hosting a Planning Workshop at Roganstown Hotel on the 7th February, 2019 at 7.15pm.  We are hoping that all members, parents, coaches, ex-members, local community partners will attend.  This workshop is to give everyone in the Club and Community their say in our future.  Topics on the night to include coaching & games developments, communications, facilities development etc.  This meeting is open to everyone and we look forward to seeing you all there.


Thomas Ashe under 15’s had a great win on their first League game of the season against local rivals Fingallians GAA with a final score of 4 -10 to 3 - 05


St Finians adult footballers have completed their pre season programme and look forward to commencing their league fixtures in February.  Click here for more pictures of our teams pre-season training.  A 35 man strong panel have put in a busy January comprising heavy fitness work, ball sharpness, a movement assessment clinic, beach sessions, in house match and a skill zone challenge.

Its that time of year again!  Club Membership for 2019 is now due.  You can pay your membership online through our website or in the Club Office.  If you are paying online, you have an option to spread the payments over 3 months.  All 2019 membership must be paid by the end of February. St. Finians is holding a CPSA (Child Protection in Sport Awareness) course at 7pm on the 22nd February.  Please contact Sharon 087 6993477 to book your place on this course.

GAA NATIONAL CLUB DRAW 2019 is now an annual event following its success over the past 5 years, the draw is to assist Clubs to raise much needed funds to aid in the development and promotion of our games. This year, all monies raised by the juvenile teams will be staying with that particular team and used for equipment for that individual team! All prizes provided by Ard Chomhairle.  Tickets available from the Club house or all Team Managers / Coaches.


Do you have some time to spare on a Saturday morning and would be interested in helping out in the Coffee Shop.  Ann O'Connor is seeking some volunteers to help out. Please contact Ann on 087 6109452.


The Nursery / Academy is on every Saturday morning.  Nursery is at 10am and Academy is at 11.30.  Looking forward to seeing you all.  All new members very welcome from 4 years of age upwards.


The club lotto on the 2nd February, 2019 was €6,900 and the numbers drawn were 11, 12, 19 and 21. There was no winner. Lucky Dip winners of €30.00 were Pauline Kelly, Bernie Murphy, Fintan Lalor and Peg Moylan.  Next weeks jackpot is €7,000.  Good luck everyone!

From Saturday 2nd February, the Lotto Draw will now take place in the Coffee Shop at 1.00pm.


St. Finians would like to say a big thank you to the Sponsors of the Club this month.  Peacocks Lounge & Bar, longtime Sponsor, Cater 4 U provided windcheaters to the U9 boys team, Airways Motor Company provided jerseys to the U15 girls team and Tesco Community Fund have also supported the St. Finians LGFA.

The Coffee Shop is open every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm.  Everyone is welcome! Come enjoy the cakes, cuppa and a chat!


There are Aerobics and Fitness classes taking place in the Clubhouse Activity Room on Mondays & Wednesday evenings.  For further details contact Bernie at 085 1359766.
