ST FINIANS SWORDS INJURY INFORMATION

St Finian’s operate many different codes of GAA sports such as Football, Hurling, Camogie and Rounders. While we endeavour to ensure that all players return safely home after training or a match, the reality is that doesn’t always happen, and sometimes players get injured. For each sport in the club, a specific fund or insurance policy is there to provide some reimbursement for medical expenses. In most cases this reimbursement is provided after an injured player has exhausted all other avenues such as Private Medical Insurance and, in all cases, there are set limits to the reimbursement. 

Please read through St Finians Summary Guidance documents to familiarise yourself with how these funds and insurance policies work and how to seek reimbursement in the event of an injury. We have also included the official guidance for each Fund or Insurance Policy. 


There are 4 different types of cover that are relevant to players associated with St Finians. Please read the information below to see which Fund or Insurance Policy is applicable to you and then click the relevant link below. 


1. GAA: The GAA Injury Benefit Fund. 

This Fund provides some reimbursement for the following groups where applicable: Adult and Youth members of the GAA playing Hurling, Gaelic Football or Rounders. Match officials, coaches, managers, and members of official team parties. Girls that are 11 years old or under. Once a girl turns 12, they must register with the LGFA. 


2. LGFA: LGFA Injury Fund

This Fund provides some reimbursement for the following groups where applicable: All adult and Youth members of the LGFA 


3. Camogie: Alliance Insurance 

This Insurance policy provides some reimbursement for the following groups where applicable: Adult and Youth members of the Camogie Association 


4. Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others: AIG Insurance 

This Insurance policy provides some reimbursement for the following groups where applicable: All players registered for Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others.
