Our adult footballers restarted their campaigns after the summer break this weekend. Coincidentally, both our Intermediate and Junior teams had games away from home against Nh Olaf. Unfortunately, our Intermediate team came out the wrong side of a heavy defeat on Saturday night. However, the Junior team reversed the result on Sunday morning with a fine victory.

The second of our Summer Camps took place last week. The highlight of the week was an appearance by Dublin senior footballer Eoghan O’Gara, who demonstrated some of his fine skills, signed autographs and posed for photographs. We wish Eoghan and all the Dublin footballers the very best of luck in their all Ireland semi-final next week. Lots of photos from Eoghan's visit are available on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/StFiniansGAASwords

The big news this week is the outcome from the Special General Meeting, held last Thursday night, to discuss the possibility of embarking on a development program to deliver an all-weather, floodlit pitch. The meeting approved the commencement of discussions with the board and management of Loreto School, with a view to agreeing the delivery of a new pitch facility in the grounds of the school. A Working Group was formed on the night, to examine what is required to achieve this significant development. Expect to hear much more on this in the coming weeks and months.

There was disappointment on the pitch for the Dublin senior and minor footballers at the weekend, however there was success elsewhere for Dublin players when the Dublin Under 16 hurlers won the Arrabawn tournament for the first time ever.
