CLUB NOTES 13/3/2016

March 14, 2016

The season is in full flow now with fixtures in all codes and age groups. A lot of success was recorded among our teams this week. At adult level the men's football teams had a win for the Junior AFL8 team and the narrowest of defeats for our AFL4 team. Among the juvenile teams there were wins for all of the boys' and girls' Under 14 teams, the Under 12's against O'Tooles and the Under 10 girls in Binn Eidear.

The Club will be launching our Player and Coach pathway manual on Tuesday the 15th of March in Peacocks at 9pm. This is a milestone for the club and will help to give our coaches the tools to develop our players to the best of their ability.

This week will see all out teams represented in the St Patricks Day Parade in Swords. All teams are encouraged to participate under St Finian’s Banner.

· The parade starts at 11.30 from Coliste Choilm.

· Team mentors and their teams should assemble from 10.30am in Coliste Choilm.

· All Teams should ware their club jersey’s and colours.

· St Finian’s will again have a truck float.

· Each Juvenile team can nominate ONE representative to ride on the float to represent their team.

· The teams should assemble by age group under the team placards e.g. Under 8, 9, 10’s etc. with their team mentors and parents.

· It is essential that Parents accompany their children and walk on the parade with them and bring them home afterwards. The club will NOT be transporting juveniles back to the club, this is the responsibility of each parent.

The Parade Organiser’s require as an absolute minimum number 1 adult to 10 children. So it is essential that parents accompany their children and as there will be large numbers attending the parade parents must bring their children home afterwards.

After the parade everyone is welcome back to the clubhouse where we will be serving tea and light refreshments, people can bring along sandwiches, cakes etc. And it goes without saying that ALL help on the day will be most welcome.

Easter Camp places can be booked through our website homepage (www.stfinians.com) or by calling the Office on 01-8132656. The same methods can used to pay membership fees or purchase tickets for the Neven Maguire cookery demonstration.

The club continues to be represented at inter-county level in several age categories. Eoin O'Connor was part of the Fingal team who were narrowly beaten by league leaders Monaghan and Louise Green was on the Dublin Camogie panel for their match against Kerry. Highlight of the weekend was Conor Lennon's part on the Dublin Minor football team who beat Meath in the Leinster League Final on Sunday.

The lotto jackpot was €2,500 and the numbers drawn were 10, 15, 16, 19. There was no winner of the jackpot. The winners of the €25 lucky dip prizes were Donal O'Hagan, Harry Hainsworth, Brigid Kennedy, Karen Ryan. Next weeks jackpot will be worth €2,600.
