UPDATE TO PARENTS RE. ST. FINIANS GAA CAMPS 2020

June 17, 2020

Good afternoon all,

St. Finians GAA Executive Committee have agreed that unfortunately, in the best interest of all of our Juvenile members, the Club will not run The GAA Cul Camps or Summer Camps this year, 2020.

We understand that your children will be disappointed but we believe that this decision is in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety in light of the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.

The GAA & TG4 will be running a TV programme which your children may be interested in viewing, GAA Kelloggs Cúl Camp TV on TG4 getting kids warmed up from June 29. The TV series will include skills, drills, games, nutrition, and wellness segments that will appeal to all the family from multiple All-Ireland winning Cork Camogie and Football star, Rena Buckley, Dublin Hurler Liam Rushe and former Donegal Footballer star Kevin Cassidy.

The Club’s Executive Committee in conjunction with a Covid Sub-Committee are finalising the details of procedures and protocols for a safe return to play and these updates will follow in the coming days.

GOLF CLASSIC 2020

September 05, 2020

We are holding our Annual Golf Classic Fundraiser on the 25th September 2020.

We are hoping that you or your Company may be in a position to provide some sponsorship for our fundraiser.  There are many expenses connected with running our Club and we rely for funding soley on our own fundraising events and the support of local businesses.  Like all sports clubs and companies in Ireland in 2020 we have been effected by Covid in our ability to fundraise this year and our Annual Golf Classic will due to social distancing be our main annual fundraiser. Please find below some information about our club.

St Finian’s GAA Club is a community based volunteer organisation promoting Gaelic Games, culture and lifelong participation.  We welcome everybody to be part of our Club.  All our members play and engage in our games as amateurs.  We provide a games programme at all levels and ages available to everyone in the Local Community

St. Finian’s GAA Club was founded in 1983 underpinned by the core principles of sports participation and community involvement. It has experienced continuing growth since foundation and currently has 230 adult members and 415 juvenile members. Currently the club fields 39 teams across all age groups in Hurling, Gaelic Football, Camogie, Ladies Football and Gaelic4 Mothers & Others. It also has a growing Nursery and Academy section with 120 children participating every weekend. Central to this growth is the club’s position within the heart of River Valley and Swords.

The club is located in the centre of River Valley, Swords and serves all the surrounding areas. Its clubhouse facilities overlook the pitches in River Valley Park and it has a very close association with Holy Family & Holywell National Schools, Loreto and Colaiste Choilm secondary schools in Swords. The club uses the River Valley Juvenile and Senior pitches on an ongoing basis and also has playing pitches in Ridgewood and Nevinstown to support the ongoing requirements of a club which is growing its playing numbers year on year.

We have a number of sponsorship options for our fundraising event “Annual Golf Classic 2020” and we hope that this is something your Company might be willing to consider. I have attached these options for ease of reference.

Give Shay a call on 0872172215 or Paul Timothy 0870511690 or  Ken Mc Dermott 0862354384  and help St. Finians return to play!
